Full-Suspension eBikes for More Comfort and Control

A full-suspension eBike, often called an E-Fully, is sprung at the front by the fork and at the rear by a shock absorber. This can noticeably relieve strain on roots, gravel, and uneven paths. At the same time, the bike remains predictable even when the terrain changes. Which design suits you, however, depends not only on the suspension travel but primarily on where and how you want to ride.

Sporty on the go or relaxed on tour?

For sporty off-road tours, an E-mountain bike with appropriate suspension tuning, grippy tires, and a stable braking system is a good basis. It should support you when climbing and remain controllable on descents. If you primarily ride on forest paths, gravel, and longer tours, comfort, seating position, lights, luggage options, and everyday suitability may become more important than a particularly sporty setup.

A full-suspension eBike is therefore not automatically the best choice for every route. For predominantly paved roads or daily city commutes, a model from our Trekking & City category may be more sensible. What to look for in an E-Fully

With the suspension, it's not just the length of the suspension travel that counts. What matters is how the fork, shock absorber, tires, and your seating position work together. More suspension travel is not automatically more comfortable or safer. For tours and moderate trails, a different setup may be suitable than for more demanding terrain with longer descents.

You should also choose the drive and battery to match your tours. Motor assistance can make steep climbs easier, while battery capacity gives you more room for longer distances and elevation gain. The actual range depends on the riding mode, route, temperature, payload, and riding style. Therefore, always compare the specifications on the respective product page and not just a single peak value.

Brakes, tires, wheel size, weight, and equipment also determine how an eBike feels in everyday life or off-road. A light, sporty full-suspension bike has different requirements than a comfort-oriented model with luggage and lighting equipment. Precisely this comparison is worthwhile before making a decision.

Start with three questions: Where do you mainly ride, how sporty do you want to be, and what does your eBike need to be able to do in everyday life? After that, suspension travel, seating position, battery, braking system, and equipment will be much easier to classify.
